Who We Are

The Merton Institute for Contemplative Living (MICL) is an independent, non-profit organization whose mission and purpose is to awaken interest in contemplative living through the works of Thomas Merton and others, thereby promoting Merton's vision for a just, peaceful and sustainable world.

What We Do

MICL provides resources and guidance-- programs, publications and retreats -- to individuals and organizations seeking the benefits of contemplative living.

What Is Contemplative Living

Contemplative living is living in unified relationships with oneself, God, others and nature, free of the illusion of separateness.
